Where is the Shkolnikova Academy held?
The Academy takes place at the magnificent Château de la Flocellière in the Vendée region of western France. Students stay on the Château grounds, with room and board included, and can enjoy the swimming pool, gardens, games, and other amenities during their free time.
How do I get to the Château?
The nearest train station is Cholet, approximately 30 km away, and the nearest airport is Nantes, approximately 90 km away. The Academy also offers a chartered bus from Paris to the Château and back to Paris on the first and last day of the Academy for an additional fee.
I’m a cellist interested in attending the Shkolnikova Academy. Will an instrument be available for me to use?
We have a limited number of cellos available for rent, subject to availability. If possible, we encourage students to bring their own instrument to the Academy.
If you are traveling internationally by air with your cello, contact Air France directly about booking an additional seat for your instrument. Advance approval and booking are required. Confirm the current fare, size and weight limits, and availability with the airline before making travel arrangements. See Air France’s musical instrument policy.
