“Excellence as a way of life” — Nelli Shkolnikova

Founded in homage to the violinist Nelli Shkolnikova, the Shkolnikova Academy also looks toward the future by creating a thriving and generous community of musicians passionate about string playing. Artistic directors David Chernyavsky and Masha Lankovsky work closely with core founding faculty members and renowned guest artists to create an environment that not only examines in detail the intricacies of string techniques but also inspires young musicians from many perspectives.  Through listening sessions dedicated to the golden age of violin playing, direct contact with luthiers on site, and workshops on concert management, mental preparation for auditions, improvisation, and even the influence of artificial intelligence, students from around the world are exposed to an abundance of resources in addition to their private lessons and chamber music coaching, all taking place in a sublimely beautiful setting.

We hope to continuously gather our collective resources to forge new pathways of understanding and foster excellence in string playing for future generations.
